US Open 1/4 finals

Hewitt Youz was a great match to trade yesterday. I managed to lay youz early on in the 2nd set at 1.16. This was great value as there was still such a long time to go in the match. Hewitt broke straight away and managed to steal the set. I relayed Hewitt at low odds at 4-1 up in 3rd and again when serving the set. Ended up being a big pay day.

Today I see small value in laying Ferrer but I do feel in best of 5, Ferrer has the edge. I wont be backing him at starting odds but wait to see how he starts. A better price to back him is around 1.8 so I will wait for this.

Not getting involved in Aza match unless she starts very slow & Nadal should easily beat Robredo later in the night.

I am really looking forward to tomorrow's quarter finals. I think both Murray and Djoker will trade much higher. I am laying Murray small at start then more if he starts well. I will also lay djoker at 1.07 and hope to back him at higher odds.

Good luck

US Open 4th round matches

We have some good matches today with 8 4th round matches. I will get involved in the Riske vs Hantchukova match. I think the price of 1.65 on Riske is about right. She's in great form and convincingly beat two big hitters in Kvitova and Barthel. I am having part stake at 1.65 and will be looking to top up above evens. I feel her game is way too consistent for Hantchukova.

We have good trading opportunities in the Ferrer vs Tipsy match. Both players have been completely out of form although I feel Tipsy has picked up some form since the beginning of the tournament. Ferrer still looks dodgy and has dropped sets against poor opposition such as Kukushkin and Bautista-Agut. I can see Ferrer trading at a much higher price and I will be looking to lay him if he wins first set.

Good luck

US Open

Well the first day of trading went well overall. It would have been break even but for the davydenko rhyne Williams match.  I entered the market at the best possible time when rhyne Williams was 2 sets up and double break up in 4th set. I laid him at 1.04 and davy immediately broke back. I exited the trade leaving most of my green on davy and he delivered for a nice pay day.

Day 2 of the us open went horribly wrong. The day started badly with the wicky kiri match. I felt Kiri was far too short at 1.3 and had to be a lay as she had been badly out of form and not really won any matches in a straight forward way so there was a good chance she would trade higher. Unfortunately this was a train to 1.01 and I lost full stake. I think I tilted a bit after this loss and did some trades which I normally wouldn't do such as lay Tommy Haas at 1.12 and lay Kuznetsova at 1.2. Both ended up badly with not much of a fight from either Burdette or Mathieu. I need to cut out these stupid trades and find some more discipline when things go wrong.

I am lowering my stakes today after a brutal day yday. Some matches I will get involved with include Hewitt Baker. I feel Baker has a good chance to win and will be laying Hewitt from the start and at lower odds if he starts well. Also I think that the unpredictable dolgopolov is a lay at 1.7 but I'll see how he starts first. There's also a good chance that Kerber will trade higher and may even lose the match against Genie so she is a lay at 1.37.

Good luck

Friday 16 August 2013

Good day yday, managed to lay ferrer at 1.4, was gonna lay more if he started well and also backed isner at 1.77. Couldn't resist and didn't wait till in play. Also a lay of 1.3 on stephens paid off. I laid Nadal at 1.16 and more in the second set at 1.04. Got lucky here with dimi breaking back and taking the set or else would have been big red for me.

One poor trade on the haas vs federer match where I laid haas at 1.6 after 1st set and as soon as he broke fed in the first game I redded out at 1.27. Bit more patience here and  I could have been green as fed went on to win the match.

Today I will be laying djoko at 1.15. Will lay more if he starts well. In their previous meetings the first set has always been close so I can see djokos price reaching at least 1.25 at some point in the first set which will be a good price to exit the trade.

I think murray will get the better of berdych but wont be touching his price pre match. I'm hoping he starts slow so I can back him around evens.

Not getting involved pre match in the nadal fed match. I feel Nadal is very short here but not sure fed's game is at the level atm to trouble him. Nadal started at roughly 1.22 in their final in Rome on the clay and is 1.29 in the match today, even though Fed is miles better on the hard courts. Maybe a small lay of Nadalfrom the start is the way forward.

Todays trades:

I will be looking to lay Ferrer if he goes break up, I feel he is completely out of form with even Harrison pushing him right till the end. A good lay price will be around 1.25 or below.

I'm also staying up for the Nadal match and will be laying him from the start. Dimitrov has taken a set off him on the clay & he is serving well enough to cause Nadal some problems.

Isner looks a nice price and I'll be looking to back him around evens.

Jankovic starts as favourite against Stephens. I  wont be touching the match odds pre match, I think this match has a lot of potential for inplay trades as could be very swingy with a lot of breaks.

Good luck

Friday 9 August 2013

Crazy day for me yday. Started very well, quickly building a profit of £350 with a lay of paire when serving for the first set and also lay of rybarikova when serving for the 1st set. I also backed errani at 2.1 when she was a couple break points down in the first set. Managed to lay murray at 1.2 which I exited when gulbis won the first set.

Things went downhill after that. I backed Jankovic when 4-3 down in the 1st set at roughly 1.95, she immediately got broken and cirstea then served out the set. I then layed cirstea at 1.5 at the beginning of the second, increasing my liability on her. It was pretty much a train to 1.01 then & I ended up with a hefty loss.

I thought del potro was decent value last night & I backed him at around 1.8 in the first set. I guess I was slightly on tilt here and overstaked on him. Seemed like he was a little tired but thought he still had an edge on Raonic. I exited the trade when Raonic won the first set & of course Del Potro breaks first game and the price shoots up again. I took another decent sized loss here.

All in all I still made decent profit but with a bit more discipline would have been much more.

Trades today. I will be looking to lay Radwanska sub 1.3 and back Pospisil around evens.

Good luck
